Budding artists had their time in the spotlight last month when the winners of this year’s Aqwest Photographic Competiton were announced.

Bunbury professional photographers Sarah Henderson, from Henderson Photographics, and Paul Verhagen, from Pyxis Services, praised the level of creativity shown in this year’s entries on August 26, and said selecting the winners was “a tough task”.

The winners received prize money for themselves and their schools, and will have their photographs included in the 2022 Aqwest calendar.

Aqwest CEO Gary Hallsworth said the aim of the competition was to raise awareness of the importance of conserving water.

“Water is a precious resource, and through this competition we are able to educate students about the importance of saving water in a fun, creative way,” Mr Hallsworth said.

Alexis Reimers, Braxton Goodwin and Ryley Spaanderman won the primary category, while Nicola Mberi, Neha Bobby and Elissa Oakey claimed the top prizes in the senior age group.

Connor Williams, Faith Hwata and Katie Hall took home the board prizes.
