Goals galore the highlight of weekend games

Associates and Robins took part in one of the women’s South West Hockey League games of the season, with the former grabbing a 3-2 victory last Friday night.

Denby Lynn scored two goals for Associates to go with another from Emma Tinley, while Robins’ goals were scored by Tahnee Gibbons and Ashlee Docking.

Marist claimed their biggest win of the year, defeating Exies 4-0 thanks to two goals from Lisa Blee, while Heather Bolhuis and Amy Seale also scored one goal each.

Blues Rachel Mellor, Courtney Barton and Sharon Kay were in fine form.

Goalkeeper Gracie Smith fought admirably for Exies alongside teammates Abbie Walton and Srihani McDonald.

Boyanup were all victorious at the weekend, with a 2-0 win over TownsSouth. Allyce Sewell opened the All Blacks’ account, before Mickayla Blackham doubled Boyanup’s advantage.

TownsSouth young guns Georgina Dowd and Charli Wicksteed worked hard to keep their side in the game, but were out-gunned by the stronger Boyanup side.

Tonight Collie take on Exies in Collie, while Associates and TownsSouth clash.

Marist play Robins and Boyanup are up against Capel to finish the round.
