Greens announce Collie-Preston candidate

South Western Times

The Greens have announced Bunbury resident Gordon Tayler as its candidate for Collie-Preston in the March State election.

Mr Tayler wants to advocate for conservation and ecologically, while serving as a role model to politically disengaged youth.

“I hope to be a strong voice for the people of Collie-Preston, and believe the Greens proposed renewable energy infrastructure programs for regional WA will see transition towns like Collie flooded with new jobs,” he said.

“I would like to see reform in the South West’s forest management, and strongly support the extension of the Greater Wellington National Park.

“Our SW forests are at a tipping point, with archaic logging, thinning, poisoning and burning practices, making the whole jarrah structure more and more vulnerable to collapse.”
