Myalup rider Lucy Warwick will guide Luke Fernie’s six-year-old Outrageous from barrier four in Saturday’s $125,000 Scenic Blast Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.

Saturday’s trip will be the gelding’s second in WA, after relocating from Victoria at the end of last year. In his only WA outing so far, Warwick guided him to fifth in the Winterbottom Stakes behind Graceful Girl on November 27.

Boyanup trainer Michael Lane also has a good opportunity to succeed on Saturday with Trade War in the Karen Haynes 50th Birthday Handicap (1400m), given the fact Chris Parnham has either won or placed with him in all three recent runs.

Elsewhere on Saturday, South West hoops Kate Witten and Kyra Yuill head down to Albany, for a solid book of mounts.

Yuill’s best victory chance appears to be aboard Starorio (trained by Cliff Green), who is running second-up, while Witten will fancy her chances with Roy Rogers-trained Luvachat.
