In Pictures: Souwest Jets end of season presentation night

Despite having a tough WA Netball League campaign in 2023, the Souwest Jets turned out to Bunbury’s Bayview Bar to celebrate the season that was. The Jets held their club presentation night on Saturday to acknowledge the end of the WANL year and celebrate the triumphs of its players for their efforts. Elycce Webb was the big winner of the night, taking home the newly named Dale Nielsen medal as the league team’s MVP, as well as winning the side’s Players’ Player award. Dubbed the “pocket rocket” by coach Cherie Farnan, Webb had an exceptional season with the Jets this year, with outstanding efforts playing in the mid-court. Despite initially joining the Jets as a training partner from the West Coast Warriors, fellow mid-courter Laura Jenour was acknowledged with the League Culture award, for quickly embracing the Jets’ values in her first season at the club. In the 20/U side, Myfawny Evans scholarship recipient Grace Millichamp added another accolade to her name after being named the side’s MVP for 2023. Abbey Jones won the 20/U Most Consistent award, while captain Lilah Edmonds was acknowledged for her leadership with the Culture award. During the presentation night, president Megan Burvill, coaches Farnan and Aroha Tamatea and the teams’ leadership groups reflected on the season that was and gave rousing speeches to look forward to the 2024 season.
