Preparations are in full swing for the inaugural Westrac Bunbury-Geographe Gift, which is less than a month away.

Almost 18 months of planning will come to fruition when the big event is held at the Bunbury Recreation Ground on April 28 and 29.

Australia’s fastest man and woman, Trae Williams and Riley Day, will compete at the event.

Westrac Bunbury Geographe Gift chairman Tom Dillon said it was pleasing to see the event coming together.

“We are hoping for 5000 people to attend on the Sunday when the finals are held,” he said.

Mr Dillon said nominations closed next Monday.

Organisers are working hard to get as many people as possible to the event, with a semi-trailer now featuring a sign which will travel around Perth and the South West promoting the event.

Mr Dillon said Spencer Signs created the artwork, while Piacentini and Son and South West Express were all part of the initiative.
