Jones follows in SWAS alumni’s footsteps
Scott Jones has followed in the footsteps of fellow South West Academy of Sport alumni Connor Blakely and Jonathon Marsh by being snapped up by an AFL team.
The 22-year-old ruckman was last year drafted to the Fremantle Dockers from East Perth.
The Busselton product’s journey is an inspiring one because of the setbacks he endured and overcame.
One hurdle Jones faced on his road to the AFL was suffering a broken leg that derailed his draft prospects in 2013.
Four years later, the 204cm big man has earned the honour of wearing the purple jumper, following a breakout year in which he played 15 WAFL league games for East Perth.
