Perth Glory soccer star Sam Kerr says the WA side will be out for revenge when they take on Canberra United at Hay Park South MultiSports Pavilion on January 20.

Kerr, teammate Nikki Stanton and coach Bobby Despotovski were in Bunbury today as part of the announcement of the first W-League game to take place in the South West.

The 24-year-old said Glory would be looking to avenge a 7-2 loss last season at the hands of United.

“Canberra are a good team,” she said.

“We are not going to be taking them lightly.

“Canberra is probably one of our biggest rivals, so it will be a massive game for us. Especially later on in the season.”

Kerr said she was excited to play in Bunbury.

“I have been speaking to a few people and you get good sporting crowds,” she said.

“Us girls like to play in front of a home crowd.

“I think the crowd will get behind us and support us.”

Kerr said the best part about the game was interacting with the fans.

“There are all different types of fans in the women’s game as well,” she said.

The Glory will take on Canberra United on January 20 from 4.30pm.
