Koombana Footbridge set to shine a light on road safety
The Koombana Bay footbridge will light up yellow for National Road Safety Week for seven days from Monday.
The week is an annual initiative created by the Safer Australian Roads and Highways group.
It aims to highlight that more than 1220 people are killed and some 35,000 seriously injured on the country’s roads every year.
Government organisations in partnership with road safety groups and campaigners will hold events, meetings and memorials while displaying yellow ribbons and pledging to make roads safer.
