Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan has praised the work being done at Koombana Bay, describing the progress as sensational.

Ms MacTiernan was given the opportunity to tour the works along with Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan and Bunbury MLA Don Punch on Friday.

Ms MacTiernan said she was impressed and could see the potential of the project.

“We have obviously been very interested in this project for many years,” she said.

“It is great to see it happening and to see Bunbury connecting with one of its greatest assets in the beach.”

Ms MacTiernan said the project would help to bring more people to the South West. “We are very confident there is enormous opportunity for growth in Bunbury,” she said.

“It is a centre that has got the critical mass that can really start attracting businesses away from Perth.

“Providing that quality of lifestyle will really improve that process.”
