Krikke Motorsport’s Dayne Kingshott says winning Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series a ‘massive honour’

After a few years of just falling short, Krikke Motorsport driver Dayne Kingshott said bringing home a Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series win for his team was a “massive honour”. Kingshott finished second, third and fourth in the preceding three editions of the series but picked up four feature race wins and four minor podium finishes throughout the season to take home this year’s crown. He sealed the deal with a second-placed finish in the feature race of the final event of the season at Perth Motorplex on Saturday night. The driver said he was stoked with the team’s campaign. “Since teaming up four seasons ago, we have been in contention for the Maddington Toyota series, but we had for one reason or another fallen short,” he said. “For this season, we improved our consistency during the season out on the track, where we picked up more wins and we were able to salvage something from our challenging nights.” Krikke Motorsport team manager Ryan Krikke said he was “very proud” of the accomplishment. “It’s been a big season for the whole team and Dayne has really matured as a driver this season, and this has been evident with the success we have been able to enjoy together during the season,” he said. “None of this would have been possible without the outstanding work from the whole team, as they have gone above and beyond this season and it’s fantastic that they have been rewarded for all their efforts.” As well as the sprintcar series win, the team took the Perth Motorplex 410 Sprintcar Track Championship for the second time in three years and finished second in the Triple Crown Series.
