Land sale boost for Bunbury

Bunbury City Council’s predicted 2018-19 closing surplus could be boosted if a number of land disposals finally get off the ground.

Mayor Gary Brennan said he was confident a number of sales would go ahead in the new financial year following several years of unsuccessful land sales.

The blocks include Lot 1881 Koombana Drive, two on Ocean Drive and one at Clifton Street.

Mr Brennan said the Koombana Drive lot – between the former Department of Parks and Wildlife site and Koombana caravan park – and one of the Ocean Drive sale of the blocks was due to go before the council early next year.

“They take a long time ... you’re talking major investment, millions of dollars of investment so naturally they do take time,” Mr Brennan said.
