A major project to redevelop the Stirling Street Arts Centre has been bolstered by an extra $350,000 in Lotterywest funding.

The cash boost is on top of the $1 million already committed to the project by Lotterywest and the $1.5 million contributed by Bunbury City Council.

Work is already under way on the redevelopment, which will include a new studio space, administration area and outdoor improvements.

Mayor Gary Brennan thanked Lotterywest for its additional support.

“The city (council) is now able to deliver to the community all the elements of this exciting redevelopment thanks to Lotterywest’s additional funding,” Mr Brennan said.

“The Stirling Street Arts Centre is an outstanding community facility and the upgrades will allow it to continue to thrive.”
