It’s not taken long for Patrick Farrant to make an impact in the Lower South West Football League.

Farrant, who relocated to Bridgetown during the off-season from Bunbury, booted seven goals for his new club, Bridgetown Bulldogs, in their crushing 24.21 (165) to 8.7 (55) win over a shell-shocked Boyup Brook on Saturday at Bridgetown Sports Oval.

In an interesting twist of fate, Farrant’s former club, Bunbury, are also known as the Bulldogs.

The Roos, who won last season’s premiership on the back of a remarkable second half of the season, failed to fire despite the presence of several SWFL recruits who recently arrived from Eaton.

Two of these recruits who could hold their heads high were Mitch Kings and Jack Wharton, while former Collie Eagles forward Mat Michael booted three goals.

Elsewhere, former Busselton coach David Lewis guided Imperials — who had seven individual goalkickers — to their second consecutive win, 15.14 (104) to 11.10 (76) over Deanmill.

In the Onshore Cup Football Association, another former Busselton gun — Bailey Coshott — booted four goals for the Boyanup Boars, who recorded a tight 6.14 (50) to 5.14 (44) win over the Augusta Abalones on Saturday at Augusta Town Oval.
