LSWFL: Deanmill defeat Bridgetown in tough round three match-up

Deanmill had come off a win against Manjimup Tigers while Bridgetown were hoping to gain their first season win after narrowly losing to Boyup Brook in round one.

The first quarter saw both teams come out hard with plenty of possession change throughout, although Deanmill was able to get ahead by seven points by the end.

In the second quarter, the two teams continued their strong defensive strategies as Bridgetown tried to keep up their fight, trailing behind by nine points at half-time, 3.6 (24) to Deanmill’s 5.3 (33).

The third quarter saw Deanmill gain momentum with five goals during the quarter, leaving Bridgetown scrambling.

Bridgetown’s three goals in the final quarter were not enough and Deanmill won by 27 points at the final siren, 11.8 (74) to Bridgetown 6.11 (47).

Deanmill’s Kester Decke and Bridgetown’s William Masters were the two highest goal kickers of the match, both scoring four goals, while Deanmill’s Brock Tempra scored two goals.
