A Margaret River man has faced Bunbury Magistrate’s Court today on an upgraded charge of murder and grievous bodily harm.

It is alleged Antony Charles Hardy, 67, was involved in an altercation with his ex-wife and her husband David Graves on January 30.

Following the physical confrontation Mr Graves was flown to Perth by the Royal Flying Doctor Service but died in Royal Perth Hospital.

This morning Mr Hardy said he had not spoken to a lawyer or legal aide.

He was twice urged my Magistrate Evan Shackleton to seek legal advice before he agreed and the matter was stood down.

Mr Hardy reappeared in court this afternoon after speaking to legal counsel.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Bunbury Magistrate’s Court via videolink on Wednesday February 28.
