The Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre will play host to a bonanza of talented performers as the 60th season of the WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod kicks off from May 28.

Eisteddfod administration officer Angelique Bavich said the milestone season would present amazing performances from South West musicians, vocalists and dancers.

“It’s not just school-aged or school-based performers, anyone of any age can perform and we try and highlight that we are an all inclusive family event,” she said.

“We do have sections called ‘Just For Fun’ and in particular have an Auslan choir which performs for us and a couple of special needs young people who will be performing in different acts.”

Ms Bavich said the eisteddfod was a platform to give aspiring performers the experience they need to pursue their dreams.

“The whole vision is to promote the love of the performing arts.”

To commemorate the milestone year, souvenir programs will feature a ‘Where Are They Now’ section, tracing the humble beginnings of past performers who have gone on to embrace their passion for the performing arts.

The season will culminate in the 60th anniversary concert on June 23 to celebrate “the eisteddfod and everything it stands for”.

Tickets are on sale now.
