New arrival ushers in five generations

LONGEVITY of life in Bunbury was proven yet again with the birth of Charlee Marsden adding a fifth generation to her family.

Charlee’s arrival three weeks ago was a special occasion met with much excitement and joy from her maternal lineage.

Great-grandmother Peta Hayes said having spent most of their lives in the South West, the family was happy to welcome the youngest into the community.

“It was quite emotional and we are all elated,” Ms Hayes said.

“It’s a very happy occasion and a big deal for the family.”

With her mother May Pryce at 90 years old and now a great-great-grandmother, Ms Hayes said the stories of Ms Pryce’s life spanning across almost a century would be passed on.

“It’s marvellous that mum is 90 and has seen her great-great-grandchildren.

“We’re quite a close family, we aren’t in each other’s pockets but we are there for each other when necessary and that’s what is important.”
