If you are looking for a relaxed evening with the family on New Year’s Eve, look no further than Donaldson Park tonight.

Bunbury Trotting Club general manager Julie Caldwell encouraged families to come along and enjoy New Year’s Eve in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

“We’ve got fireworks after the last race,” she said.

“We don’t wait until midnight for the fireworks as our crowd involves families with little kids.

“We’ve also spent a bit more in the budget this year, so they should be pretty good fireworks.”

Along with the fireworks, three different bands will play between races, along with plenty of prize giveaways given out for the kids.

Caldwell said there will even be an opportunity for children to run a lap of the track prior to the fireworks display.

Spectators are welcome to bring along a picnic and relax on the lawn, although drinks are not permitted to be brought into the venue.

Race one is at 6.14pm.
