Nine-year-old embarks on second Cape to Cape trek raising money for animals in need

Nine-year-old Chloe Paris-Muller is back on the Cape-to-Cape track with the goal of raising money for a worthy cause. Last September Chloe and her parents Stephanie Paris and Andrew Muller hiked the bottom half of the track from Margaret River and raised $1500 for the Magnetic Island Koala Hospital. Now six months on, the family are tackling the other half of the track while fundraising for SAFE Bunbury. The trio set off on Good Friday and are planning for their journey to last seven days. Chloe said the walk had been a challenge so far, but she was enjoying the experience. “I find that the walk is really challenging most of the time, but some of the time I quite enjoy parts of the walk,” she said. “Mostly the beach because I put my feet in the water.” The family have a personal connection to SAFE as their cat Luna was adopted from the shelter last year. Chloe said her experience through SAFE meant she jumped at the idea to raise money for them. “It was actually not my idea, but when I heard of it I thought it was a really good idea because I really like the idea of SAFE,” she said. “That’s where we got our cat. “I really love our cat. I’ve got a very close connection with her. I’d do anything for her.” Chloe said donations regardless of the size would make a difference. “SAFE is a wonderful thing to donate for to save lots of little lives,” she said. “Probably if we weren’t doing this donation and trying then some cats and dogs would maybe lose their lives “This donation is very good for cats and dogs to have a chance for some of them to not die and to live and have a home” Donations can be made on GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/14367969
