A Bunbury training provider will showcase its offerings to the public on Tuesday through an open day.

JSW Training and Community Services will open the doors to its Bourke Street training centre to allow potential students to see its facilities and services.

The not-for-profit provider, which has community services and training arms, has introduced new courses including hospitality.

A Certificate I in new opportunities for women, which is aimed at migrants or those returning to the workforce, was also highlighted as a unique program by JSW staff member Carissa Howard.

She said a number of free programs were operated by the centre and some were little known.

“We are having the open day to try and get people to come down, see what courses we offer and how we can help,” Ms Howard said.

“Lots of people don’t know what we do, and we do so much more than people realise.”

Workforce development officer George Andrews said JSW offered a “supportive and holistic” learning environment for adults and he believed the open day would be mutually beneficial.

“People can see the facilities, meet staff and get some advice on what the best training would be for them,” Mr Andrews said.

“It is also an opportunity for us to meet the community and see what they want from us.”

The open day will run from 10am until 2pm and JSW will also hold an open day in Busselton on Wednesday.
