Optus working to fix interruption to services near Bunbury

South Western Times

An Optus spokesman has said the company is working to repair issues causing mobile and internet service interruptions around Bunbury.

Outages have been reported on the company website in Australind and Leschenault.

The spokesman said the disruptions were caused by a third party damaging a section of its fibre cable network.

Technicians have identified the location of the break and are on-site to replace the damaged section of the cable.

“We’re working to reduce the affect to customer services and expect to have the necessary repairs completed this afternoon,” he said.

“In the instance of an emergency, customers should still dial 000 from their fixed number or mobile phone.”
