Pacey South West progress pleases Premier
Premier Mark McGowan had a whirlwind tour of the South West on Friday as he cast his eye over a number of projects prior to the official opening of Bunbury’s Dolphin Discovery Centre.
He started his day by providing an update on South Western Highway upgrades at Wagerup before officially opening a science lab at Harvey Primary School.
It was then onto Collie’s Lake Kepwari where he announced rehabilitation works had started as Premier Coal prepared to hand over the former coal mine for recreational use.
Brief visits to schools in Collie and Eaton were followed by three official openings in Bunbury.
Mr McGowan encouraged private investment in the city as he opened Victoria Square before officially unveiling Koombana Bay’s Wardani Boodja artwork.
At the opening of the Dolphin Discovery Centre he said the State’s best wild dolphin experience had become better.
“People can visit the Dolphin Discovery Centre, check out the interpretative centre, then head to the beach to hopefully see them in their natural habitat,” he said.
Food and Agriculture Minister Alannah MacTiernan also made funding announcements at Ryan’s Quality Meats while Police Minister Michelle Roberts divulged the preferred location of Capel’s police station a day prior.
