Parkinson’s WA to host Bunbury wellness day workshop
Parkinson’s WA will host a workshop designed to help people with the neurological condition continue to live a full and enriched life next month.
The workshop will be led by the organisation’s community-based Parkinson’s nurse specialists Liz Bickley and Nerolie Lyle.
“Parkinson’s is surprisingly common,” Ms Bickley said.
“It has a higher prevalence than a number of conditions that are considered more pro-lific, including breast cancer, lymphoma, leukaemia, bladder cancer and cervical or ovarian cancer.
“We have organised this workshop for people who are newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s, as well as those who have been living with the neurological condition for some time, to increase their wellness and help them to live full and enriched lives.”
The wellness day workshop will cover things like nutrition, exercise, voice strengthening, anxiety and stress reduction, and mindfulness.
It will take place at the Community Home Care on Parade Road on May 8 from 10am to 3pm.
Tickets for the workshop can be bought by contacting Parkinson’s WA on 6457 7373.
