After the crushing low of losing his position as the head of a number of radio stations in the UK, Deano O’Brien discovered the “best job in the world”, forging a successful career as children’s entertainer and author Mr Yipadee.

Visits to Grace Christian School, Kingston Primary School, South Bunbury Primary School and the City of Bunbury Library yesterday marked his first trip to Western Australia, where he had Kindergarten to Year 2 students clapping and laughing along to his catchy tunes.

Presented by Collins Bookstore, the tour will see Mr Yipadee visit another 20 schools across the State this week to promote his illustrated publications Jingle Bells, Rudolph Smells, Nee Naw the Little Fire Engineand Stink-o-saurus.

“I have two little girls, so for me I get to see the kids having fun, and I know what it is like for my kids.

“Then the parents really get into it and enjoy watching their kids and laugh along – it’s really special,” he said.

“I am just so excited to be here performing in Bunbury.”
