Plenty of Christmas fun for everyone at Dalyellup

He’s making a list and checking it twice for Dalyellup residents.

Santa Claus is coming to town a little early this year, with the Dalyellup Community Christmas Festival celebrations taking place this weekend.

Sunday will see Central Lakes Park transformed into a festive wonderland full of free family fun.

The afternoon will have free activities, games and giveaways from 3pm to 6pm, with the Southern Ports Fun Zone hosting a Satterley art tent, mechanical bull, Gravity dunk tank, free face painting and more.

Community food stalls and food trucks will be available, as well as makers markets, police and fire truck displays and a Christmas fashion parade.

A Christmas carols concert will be held at 6pm before the man in red makes an appearance at 7.30pm to visit the children and help light the Bendigo Christmas tree.

Dalyellup Collective chair Lisa O’Neill said 2020 was the Year of Scotland in Australia and this is tied into the event via the have-a-go Scottish Ceilidh dancing session.

“It’s a day of family fun and all about bringing people together,” she said.

It’s a really good opportunity for families to come along and support the community, but also to have some fun without having to dip your hand into your pocket.

Bunbury’s family fun Christmas celebrations begin on Sunday, with the RAC Street Parade kicking off from 5.30pm. Celebrations will be spread over two weekends with the CBD alive with the Apprentice and Traineeship Company Carols Concert on December 13.
