A car has crashed into a tree on the Coalfields Highway in Worsley.

Police, St John paramedics and firefighters were called to the crash, which occurred near Gastaldo Road about 12.45pm today.

A WA Police spokesman confirmed the car had crashed into a tree and it was understood the vehicle caught fire briefly.
