A 60-year-old man has died after the car he was driving left the road, went through a carpark and fence barrier and down an embankment at Bunbury Back Beach.

Police believe the man had a medical episode during the crash on Friday afternoon.

Police are calling on witnesses who may have seen the blue, 1996 Ford sedan travelling on Ocean Drive about 2pm or prior to it crashing near the Mangles Street intersection.

Emergency services responded to the incident and did CPR at the scene before taking the man to Bunbury Hospital, but he later died.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
