Police charge woman over 2017 crash

Police have charged a woman they say was driving under the influence of drugs when she allegedly lost control of her car and slammed into another vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle received serious injuries and had to be taken to Bunbury Hospital following the crash on July 26 last year.

Major crash investigators allege the 33-year-old Roelands woman failed to take a left hand bend on Dodson Road in Glen Iris forcing her to cross double white lines onto the incorrect side of the carriageway.

Police allege the woman’s Holden Astra crashed head on with a Subaru Forrester travelling in the opposite direction.

The woman has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm whilst under the influence of drugs and driving under the influence of drugs.

She is due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court on March 19.
