A 56-year-old man was in a critical condition at Royal Perth Hospital yesterday after he received serious head injuries during an altercation outside Kirup Tavern on Friday night.

Bunbury detectives were investigating the assault and wanted to speak to a man in his 20s who they believe may be able to help with inquiries.

Police say the incident between the men occurred between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The man police wanted to speak to was described as being fair skinned with a slim and muscular build and was last seen leaving the area shirtless.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, Bunbury Police Station or make a report online.
