Police investigate Paynedale fatal crash as 14 year old boy dies in ICU

Police have confirmed a 14-year-old passenger injured in a crash near Donnybrook last week has since died from his injuries.

The boy had been airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital with another 17-year-old female passenger due to the serious nature of their injuries.

On Friday the hospital confirmed the boy was in a critical condition in the hospital’s ICU.

A police spokesperson confirmed the boy since from his injuries.

The crash occurred in Paynedale on Tuesday October 26.

At about 5.05pm a Toyota Corolla that was travelling in a north-easterly direction along Knights Road has struck a tree.

The 14-year-old male driver of the vehicle and a 16-year-old male passenger were taken to Bunbury Hospital for treatment of the injuries they received.

A 13-year-old male was assessed at the scene by St John Ambulance.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
