Australind police acting officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Chris Clelland said the bicycle was now a focus and anyone with information needed to contact police.

“The bike is important for us now, if anyone has picked it up we need to know,” Sen. Sgt Clelland said.

“If someone just thought it was an abandoned bike and picked it up, we just need to know if it has been found or where it was last seen.”

The RAC Rescue Helicopter was deployed to help with search efforts last night in the Australind, Leschenault and Brunswick areas, but with no success.

Mr Jeffries is described as being about 175cm tall, of medium build with fair skin, a grey beard and moustache, receding grey/dark hair and brown eyes.

He is believed to be wearing a light polo t-shirt, black shorts, purple and white sneakers and an old bicycle helmet.

He is known to regularly cycle long distances in the Australind and Leschenault area.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or police on 131 444.
