A search continues at the Belvidere camp site near Leschenault after a 40-year-old woman was reported missing this morning.

Police have just completed an initial 300m area search, but are yet to find the woman.

It is understood the woman’s last contact was about 8.20 this morning before she went for a drive in a white Holden Commodore which has been found near the camp site.

State Emergency Services volunteers are arriving at the site and will conduct a thorough search of the area.

Australind police Sen. Sgt Mark Smith said that the police and SES dogs as well as aerial support had been used in an effort to find the woman.

“We have thrown our resources out there because we have serious concerns for her,” he said.

“We are actively searching for her and are awaiting a result.”
