Police shut drug operations

Australind police officer-in-charge Sen. Sgt Mark Smith has repeated the message “we are coming to get you” after officers shut down more drug operations last week.

Police discovered a hydroponic grow house, seized 15g of meth and charged five people in a series of targeted raids.

“We are coming for you. You are next,” Sen. Sgt Smith warned.

“We work hard every day ... and this is a great outcome in removing drugs from our streets.

“We continue to see a reduction in other crimes as a result of these operations.”

On September 4 police executed a search warrant on a house in Australind, with officers finding a hydroponic set-up at the residence.

Seventeen cannabis plants and 5kg of packaged cannabis leaf were found during the search, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine.

A 39-year-old Australind man was charged with possession of a prohibited drug and cultivation of cannabis.

He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.

On Friday, police executed a warrant on another Australind house.

As a result of the search 15g of meth, a quantity of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a set of nunchucks were found.

A 46-year-old Australind woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and supply.

A 45-year-old Australind man was charged with possession of a controlled weapon and a 35-year-old woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say investigations are continuing in relation to the raid.

At 2pm on Saturday officers performed a traffic stop on a car at the Australind shopping centre carpark.

Police charged a 26-year-old man with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and supply, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sen. Sgt Smith said shutting down drug operations was a primary focus for the team.
