Power play: West Coast Eagles CEO Trevor Nisbett, from Bunbury, named among WA footy’s most influential people

A Bunbury product who continues to be one of the leading powerbrokers in Australian sport has been recognised as the fifth most influential person in WA football. West Coast Eagles chief executive Trevor Nisbett was named by The West Australian among media performers, player managers, board members and stars including Luke Shuey, Nic Naitanui, Liam Ryan and Nat Fyfe on its list of people who shape the sport in this State. Nisbett, who played for football for South Bunbury, has been at the Eagles since 1989, where he started as the club’s football manager. He has served as chief executive of the club — which with more than 100,.000 members, is one of the country’s biggest — since 1999. In that time the club has won two premierships, moved to Optus Stadium, and enjoyed a strong financial position. AFL chair and business tycoon Richard Goyder was given the crown of most influential, ahead of Premier Mark McGowan.
