Wests’ sharpshooter Sam Pike put in another man-of-the-match performance, slotting a second-consecutive men’s South West Hockey League hat-trick against Marist on Saturday.

Pike scored three goals in the 9-0 massacre of TownSouth two weeks ago and just seven days later he slotted another trifecta in his team’s 4-4 draw with the Blues.

Marist’s Jordan Hunt scored the Blues’ only goal for the first half, while Alby Lawrence scored two goals to go with Alix English’s goal after half-time.

Miles Armstrong scored Wests’ other goal, but the Busselton-based team could have had more if not for the efforts of Blues’ goalkeeper Hamish Coates.

The weekend started with an exciting 1-1 draw between TownSouth and Associates on Friday night.

Associates’ Lachlan Harrington and TownSouth’s Matt Davis scored the only two goals for the game.

TownSouth’s best players were Tim Smithall, Davis and Phil Moore, while for Association, Sean Cowan, David O’Brien and goalkeeper Brad Scott were solid.

Boyanup dominated Exies to claim a 4-0 victory, with Brayden Dalton joining Pike in scoring an illusive hat-trick during the weekend’s fixtures.

Dalton’s game was complemented by Lewis Tunstall, who scored the All Black’s other goal.

Tomorrow night Collie take on Associates from 8.05pm at the Bunbury Hockey Stadium.

Boyanup meet TownSouth from 3.15pm on Sunday, while Marist battle Exies later that day from 6.15pm.
