Red suit ironed and ready for Forum festive opening
Boys and girls will be in for a festive treat as Bunbury Forum Shopping Centre dusts off its throne for a special guest in a big red suit.
The centre will begin to hang the garlands as it celebrates the arrival of Father Christmas on Saturday to officially welcome in the silly season.
The centre will host live entertainment from 10am until 2pm, as well as free face painting, balloon twisters and centre-wide sales, with the main event – the arrival of Father Christmas at 12pm.
Bunbury Forum marketing manager Ashley Hastie said the magic of Christmas was coming to the centre.
“We’re thrilled to have such an exciting day planned, in honour of the jolly man in the red suit,” he said.
“Santa’s throne is spectacular, we’ve commissioned local artist Deb Prentice to create beautiful murals, settings the scene for our outstanding animatronic reindeer and live pine tree forest.
“Children pass through the enchanted forest before greeting Santa, having a beautiful photo and receiving a gift, then on through to Santa’s cabin to enjoy their gift.”
Father Christmas said after a year of making toys, he “could not wait” to visit all the children of the South West again.
“The children bring so much joy and it’s a good thing I can supply them with toys and goodies because most, if not all, deserve it,” he said.
Father Christmas will be located outside Coles daily for family photos. For session times, contact 9721 5899.
