Even though her team did not finish on top of the ladder at the recent School Sport Australia Netball Championships, Brooke Repacholi emerged from the national tournament a winner by being named in the national side.

The talented wing defence was hand-picked for the All Australian Schoolgirls Team after her strong performance in a 15 and under WA side at the School Sport Australia netball championships caught the eye of judges.

Held as part of the Pacific School Games, the contest saw young guns from throughout the country come together in Adelaide last month to vie for national title honours.

The Australind resident and South West Academy of Sport athlete said it was exciting to be selected for the team and be given the opportunity to play in international matches on the Gold Coast later this year.

In terms of the championships, the 15-year-old Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School student said it was a good experience and a chance to see how the WA representatives measured up against those from other states.

“We got fifth overall,” she said.

“We had some up and down games, but overall we did a pretty good job.”
