Rescue helicopters have returned to SW skies
Rescue helicopters returned to the skies last week in an effort to safeguard beachgoers for the 2017-18 season.
The South West division of Surf Life Saving Western Australia will spend weekends flying over some of the region’s most popular beaches, switching to daily services for the September school holidays.
Lifesaving services manager Peter Scott said the helicopters were an important surveillance tool as they spot potential danger from marine life and conditions such as rips.
