Review into port merger announced

Bunbury MLA Don Punch has welcomed a review into the Southern Ports Authority amalgamation.

The former Bunbury, Albany and Esperance port authorities were merged to form as one in October 2014 as part of port governance reforms.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti last week announced the “post-implementation review”.

Mr Punch said the review was “consistent” with plans to ensure Bunbury’s port was better utilised.
