Letters and imagery from across the region are being documented by a crew from creative agency Juicebox in collaboration with Bunbury Geographe Tourism, to help rebrand the region.

Guided by submissions sent in by the public, the crew travelled from Capel to Boyup Brook, Mumballup to Bunbury, and Collie to Harvey to ensure the entire region was represented.

Bunbury Geographe Tourism marketing and development manager Anissa Williams was thankful to farm and property owners who “let us into their lives”.

“We have to thank everyone who really opened their doors and told us their story as we have been learning more to develop the brand,” she said.

Juicebox creative director Joel Pember said the team had travelled from “sunrise to sunset” in search of the region’s typography.

“As we are going around, the important thing we are feeling is what geographically the areas are like, but also what it’s like culturally,” he said.

“The idea is we are collecting all the signs trying to get a feel of what letters and what typography is being used so we can bring them into the studio and design an identity for the whole of the region which is truly representative.

“Bunbury Geographe has a lot to offer and a lot of those stories have been bubbling away under the surface – what we want to do is scratch that first layer off and let them come to the surface.”

The new branding will be released in March.
