Senior players Jackson Arbon and Aidan Fraser stood tall and led Busselton to a 13-point win over Carey Park at Sir Stewart Bovell Park on Saturday.

The Magpies kicked away in the third term and survived a fourth-quarter fightback from the Panthers to claim the 10.8 (68) to 8.7 (55) victory.

Arbon was sensational for the Magpies in the midfield, while captain Fraser booted three goals, as did big man Steve Cameron.

The two teams could not be separated after the first quarter and at half-time the margin was just seven points in favour of the Magpies.

But Busselton kicked three goals to just one in the third quarter to set up their tight victory.

Panther Jaxon Bell continued his solid form since moving over from South Bunbury with another good showing in the midfield, while Eli Hill, Riese Wilkey and Jeff Carter all kicked two goals for the visitors.

Carey Park needed to lift in the final term because they trailed by 17 points.

They did win the quarter by kicking two goals to one, but the Magpies let the Panthers off the hook thanks to three behinds from four scoring shots.

The victory means Busselton have seven wins from their 14 games, while Carey Park have slipped down to eighth after being on top of the table earlier this season.

This weekend the Panthers will hope to keep their season alive when they head up to Collie to battle the Eagles, while the Magpies will be looking for their third-straight win when they take on Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault at Brunswick Oval, with both teams needing a win.
