Seniors travel in style to lunch

TO some, a limousine trip is the standard choice of vehicle for a milestone birthday or significant event, but for 10 Bethanie Fields residents, travelling to a Monday morning luncheon was how they experienced their first ride.

Sitting on a bus en route to a physiotherapist appointment, a resident mentioned to her carer she would love to journey in a limousine at least once so Bethanie Fields staff rallied to make her wish a reality.

Lifestyle coordinator Roxene Cleggett said because the residents came from a different time, a limousine ride was a novelty experience.

“We were more than happy to actualise an experience they have not had yet,” she said.

Thanking Down South Luxury Limousines owner Brad Coleman for his efforts and support, Mrs Cleggett added the residents were excited to be travelling in style in the Hummer for a lunch at Aristos Waterfront Bunbury. “I have had my business for 13 years and sometimes it is not about making money, it is about giving something back to the community and helping create the opportunity to experience new things,” Mr Coleman said.
