The X Factor winner and Eurovision star Isaiah Firebrace paid a special visit to Bunbury Senior High School to chat one-on-one with students on Thursday.

Firebrace said he enjoyed talking to students because he was in school not that long ago.

“I like talking to the youth because I am only 19 myself so I guess I can connect with them on that level,” Firebrace said.

“I like to give them a good message of inspiration to follow your dreams like I did. The view at this school is amazing and WA is such a beautiful part of the world and I’m just so happy I’m here.”

Music teacher Billie Court was thrilled to have an X Factor superstar visit the school.

“We felt very lucky and really happy that he said yes to coming along,” Ms Court said.

“I caught wind that he was coming to Bunbury to play at BREC so I contacted them and asked if he could come along to the school and he said yes.

“He is a great inspiration and the kids got a lot out of it as well.”

Year 12 student Hannah Prowse said she was inspired by the singer.

“I thought it was pretty cool,” Hannah said.

“I really enjoyed him talking about his life goals and where he got where he is.

“When he spoke about getting support from his community and family, I’m so thankful to have a beautiful community.”

Firebrace performed at BREC that night before continuing his national tour throughout WA.
