Slammers select import

The South West Slammers women’s side have announced their first import for the upcoming season.

Netherlands international Charlotte Van Kleef has signed on to play for the club.

The 190cm power forward said she was looking forward to playing in the South West.

“I’m really excited about coming to play for the Slammers,” she said.

“I have dreamed about playing in Australia for a long time.

“Now I’m graduated, my dream becomes a reality.”

Van Kleef said the move would be her first time to Australia.

“I have visited a lot of countries for basketball tournaments but I’ve never been to Australia,” she said.

“I have heard a lot of beautiful stories about great places and people in what we call Down Under.

“I hope I can help the Slammers reach their goals for the upcoming season.

“I can’t wait to meet my teammates and coaching staff at the Slammers.”
