Slammers start 2017 at home

The Printsync South West Slammers will begin their 2017 State Basketball League campaign by hosting the Lakeside Lightning at the Eaton Recreation Centre on Saturday, March 18.

Basketball WA released the SBL fixtures on Thursday, with the season to kick off on Friday, March 17 with the finals set to start on August 4.

The Slammers will not have a double-header weekend until week eight, when they take on the Perry Lakes Hawks at home before battling the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on the Sunday at the Ray Owen Sports Centre.

The Eaton Recreation Centre will play host to 13 home games, with the Slammers to play on the road on 13 occasions.

The men’s side will play 26 games, including road trips to Geraldton and Kalgoorlie, while the women will have byes on those occassions.

The Slammers will have six double-header weekends in 2017.

The men’s grand final will be on Saturday, September 2, with the women’s to be on the night before.

Both games will be at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
