South West duo charged with multiple sex offences against incapable person and dozens of drug charges

A duo from the South West have been charged with dozens of abuse offences against an incapable person as well as multiple charges relating to drug-selling. The duo — who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim — have been charged with a combined 36 counts of sexual abuse of an incapable person and appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court last Thursday. The 32-year-old man appeared via video link from Bunbury Regional Prison charged with 11 counts of sexually penetrating an incapable person, seven charges of indecently dealing with an incapable person and one count of compelling another person to provide a sexual service. He was also charged with one count of possessing drug paraphernalia, one count of possessing a prohibited weapon, conspiring to sell methamphetamine and 26 charges of offering to sell or supply a prohibited substance. The 30-year-old woman was charged with 11 counts of sexually penetrating an incapable person, seven charges of indecently dealing with an incapable person and eight charges of offering to sell or supply a drug. She was also charged with one charge of possessing drug paraphernalia and one charge of compelling another person to provide a sexual service. The charges date from January 1, 2020, to December 27 and are said to have allegedly taken place across Perth and the South West. During the hearing, the man repeatedly yelled at the police prosecutor and at one point told the officer he “needed to pull his finger out of his a...”. Neither person was required to enter a plea during their hearing, and the man was remanded in custody with his bail not considered. The woman remains on bail conditions, with both due to next appear in court on April 22 where they are expected to enter a plea.
