South West fans get chance to see Glory star

South Western Times

South West soccer fans will get to see one of the world’s best female strikers when WA hero Samantha Kerr and her Perth Glory women’s team take on Canberra United at WML Stadium on Saturday, January 20.

The W-League fixtures were announced yesterday and it was revealed the Glory would play their penultimate home-and-away fixture in Bunbury.

Kerr, who was the leading goalscorer in America’s National Women’s Soccer League this year, will be joined by the likes of Margaret River’s Natasha Rigby and coach Bobby Despotovski for the game.

It will be the first national soccer game to be played at the Hay Park multisports pavilion.

The round 12 clash will begin at 4.30pm.
