Diners will gain a new appreciation for the winning wines of the Geographe and WA Alternative Varieties Wine Show, with each pour paired to a gourmet course at A Spring Feast in Guppy Park on November 4.

The success of last year’s inaugural event has spurred Market Eating House to recreate the event annually, with this year’s six course meal set to showcase the region’s best produce.

“It is where we get to show the best we can do,” restaurant owner Bec Pyke said.

“The food is of an ever higher standard than what the restaurant produces – we get to dress it up a little bit.

“Each dish has been designed to perfectly pair with the wine we have selected.”

Event organiser Jo O’Dea said it was a chance to share the winemakers’ success.

“We can say to the public ‘this is what won, this is what you can do with it and these are the people behind the wines’,” she said.

“It is a chance for Market Eating House to explore and experiment with things that they would not normally have on the menu.”
