Regional pride will be on the line in Eaton over the coming days, as the Steelers Softball Club prepare to lock horns with some of WA’s best in the eagerly anticipated Skins tournament.

Teams from as far afield as Tom Price and Geraldton (Rams) will be making the lengthy journey down for a shot at glory, although Steelers president John Penman believes his side will give them a run for their money.

Especially given the fact this Steelers side will be a little different, as a few players from BADSA club rivals Strikers and Wanderers will be suiting up alongside them in a bid to defend their home diamond.

“It is a good opportunity,” Penman said.

“The guys who have come in fit the team. It is also a great to play softball hard all day and then sit around after the game over a few laughs and refreshments with opposition players.”
